Manufacturer hiring for VP of Finance and Accounting. Selected candidate will be responsible for all Corporate, Financial, Accounting, Payroll, Insurance, Real Estate, Tax Compliance, Treasurer, also responsible for year‑end external audit, annual budgeting (execution plan), forecasting and planning.
Responsibilities Include:
- Direct, organize and motivate Finance and Accounting Department including Financial Reporting, General Ledger, Inventory & Cost Accounting, Sales Reporting, Billing, Planning, Forecasting, Cash Management, Property Management, Payroll. Duties include training and interacting extensively with administrative supervisors, reviewing work, distribution of work and preparation and monitoring of budgets.
- Direct the Company’s various insurance and related risk management areas including general & product liability.
- Analyze financial results of the company in order to maintain clear and accurate books and records including supporting schedules. Interprets GAAP & IFRS and chooses appropriate accounting methods to use in conjunction with SDRS Corporate. Analyze budget to actual variances with recommendations for corrective action.
- Direct monthly financial reporting including financial statement package with related supporting schedules, monthly flash report, cash management reporting, and other corporate reporting requirements.
- Direct control of cash management activities including directing and analyzing cash inflows and outflows, cash flow forecasting, and relations with bankers and lenders. The objective is to stretch and increase cash flow at the least expensive rate and to alert top management of any cash situation.
- Communicate financial aspects of the Company to top management and external sources such as bankers, creditors, vendors, auditors, etc., as required.
- Direct compliance with federal, state, and other governmental tax entities regarding sales, net income, property, environmental and other taxes.
- Direct audits of sales (multi-state), income and property tax, as well as all other governmental agencies. Direct sales tax system maintenance, sales tax issues and tax planning.
- Direct in conjunction with top management the semi‑annual budget planning activities including the Sales, Manpower, Operating and Capital Plans. In addition, direct financial forecasts and forecasting activities.
- Direct year‑end external audit with public accounting firms from start to finish, beginning with audit planning to final financial statements. Direct finance staff to maintain external and internal timetables, schedule preparation and special request analysis. Provide written and verbal explanations of financial variances, internal controls and segregation of duties. Prepare final formal financial statements including footnotes.
- Prepares special accounting analysis and reports throughout the company to help management evaluate or communicate results, as necessary.
- Represent Finance Department in various committees and groups.
- Cash Management – Maintain tight financial controls over all cash areas including management over cyclical business, restricted and finite borrowing capability, slow paying customers and spending controls. Maintain favorable relations with vendors, cash flow forecasting and close monitoring of cash movement between accounts.
- Financial Transactions ‑ Requires ability to be precise and thorough. All activities of the company must be recorded in the General Ledger. Careful review is necessary to prevent the company's financial results from being distorted. Top management provides concurrence in outcome.
- Deadlines ‑ Constant deadlines are met. Critical to send financial information to management in a timely manner.
- People Management ‑Working with different employees, advisors, consultants, customers, suppliers and others, the challenge is getting everyone to work together as a team to achieve a common goal. The measure of success is dependent upon everyone's participation and therefore only as good as the weakest link.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred.
- Seven years or more of financial experience in a public and/or private accounting environment preferred.
- Five years’ management experience and supervisory experience are preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant or master’s degree in finance or equivalent preferred.
Salary: $150K.
