The ideal candidate will lead geotechnical investigations and foundation design, ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards while managing project timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage geotechnical projects for TxDOT, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Conduct geotechnical investigations and analyses, including site assessments and soil mechanics evaluations.
- Design foundations and provide recommendations based on geotechnical data and project requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate geotechnical designs into overall project plans.
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
- Communicate with stakeholders to ensure project alignment and address any concerns or changes.
- Oversee compliance with environmental regulations and quality control standards during project execution.
- Manage risks associated with geotechnical activities and implement mitigation strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical project management, specifically with TxDOT.
- Strong knowledge of foundation design and soil mechanics.
- Experience with site investigations and construction materials.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations affecting geotechnical projects.
- Excellent project management skills including budget management and risk assessment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and technical reporting.
